Rare 16s 21J Illinois Bunn Special 60 Hour pocket watch c1928

This is a classic American Railroad pocket watch by the Illinois Watch Co.

It is the 21 Jewel 60 Hour Type III variant.

Movement – this is a superb high quality nickel ¾ plate movement which has a lever escapement with a micrometer regulator, decorated with circular damascening, black enamel lettering, gold train wheels and raised gold jewel settings. The movement is signed “Double Roller, Sixty Hour, Bunn Special, Illinois Watch Co, Springfield, Motor Barrel, 21 Jewels, Adjusted Temp & Six positions” # 5036914. The movement is in 95% mint condition – some enamel missing from the lettering but still a good example

Case – the movement comes in a superb 10K yellow gold filled case which has a screw on back and bezel with milled edges. The case has a smooth plain finish and is in 95% mint condition – light marks and scratches only, overall a superb case

Dial – the white enamel dial is double sunk and has a full set of blue steel hands. The dial is signed “Illinois”  and is in 95% mint condition – a hairline on the 4 and an almost invisible one the 8

The watch measures 51mm wide x 14mm deep

The watch is stem wound / lever set
