This watch has a good balance but the mainspring is slipping. The watch runs for a few moments and then stops
This is a heavy piece and has an inverted winder and dial – it was probably used in a dashboard or in a leather desk case.
Movement – the nickel 7 jewel movement has a lever escapement and an 8 day mainspring. The movement is signed “Waltham Watch Co, USA, 8 Days” # 25495749. The movement is in 95% mint condition
Case – the movement comes in a heavy gilt metal open face case, which has a snap on back and The case has a smooth plain finish and screw off back. The bezel has turned detailing. The back has a smooth plain finish. The case is in 85% mint condition – light wear and the gilding has become slightly dull with age.
Dial – the silvered dial has old luminous hands and numbers – now faded. The dial is signed “Waltham, 8 Days” and is in 80% mint condition – light marks
The watch has a bevelled mineral glass
The watch is stem wound / stem set
The watch measures 69mm x 20mm
