Silver pocket watch with a double sided calendar function c1890

This is a Swiss pocket watch which has a dial on one side and when you open the back cover there is a calendar function.

Movement – the gilt ¾ plate movement has a lever escapement and 15 Jewels. The movement has a calendar sprocket also – see below. The movement is in 95% mint condition – light marks only

Case – the movement comes in a silver open face case, which has a hinged snap on bezel and a hinged back cover which pops open to 90 degrees when you press the button in. When the back cover is open it reveals the calendar function.  This made up of an inner gilt ring which is fixed which has numbers 1-31 and a hand which changes every 24 hours automatically by the sprocket on the movement. This date function can also be altered manually by a lever on the front side of the calendar. The dial then has a rotating outer silvered ring with enamel letters for dates and a partially revealed month dial. These are moved by two separate small wheel in the calendar bezel to set the day, date and month to correspond. This calendar is signed Globo

The silver case has a smooth plain finish and is in 90% mint condition – light bruises on the back

Dial – the white enamel dial has a pair of gilt filigree hands and a gilt sub seconds hand. The dial is signed “Calendar Brevete, Globo”. The dial is in 90% mint condition – a hairline in the centre

The watch measures 54mm wide x 15mm deep
