About this item
This pocket watch was made in Switzerland by Cyma and was sent to England where it was retailed by J W Benson. The watch has clear assay marks for 18K gold and also London import marks for London 1948
Movement – the good quality nickel ¾ plate movement has a lever escapement and is signed “Cyma, 17 Jewels, Swiss” # 362240. The movement is in 95% mint condition
Case – the movement comes in a solid 18K gold case, which has a snap on back and bezel. The case is signed “Cyma” and has a smooth plain finish. The case has a stylish bow, stepped sides and is in 90% mint condition – light surface scratches on the back
Dial – the champagne coloured metal dial has raised numbers and batons and a full set of gilt hands. The dial is signed “J W Benson, London, Shock-Absorber, Swiss Made”. The dial is in 100% mint condition
The watch has a mineral glass
The watch measures 44mm wide x 8mm deep
The watch is stem wound / stem set
The watch comes in its original leather J W Benson box lined with silk and velvet. The box does show wear to the leather and the silk is very worn in places but still a perfectly acceptable presentation box
