This is Swiss made J W Benson made for the English market which comes in an English 9K gold hunter case which has clear gold assay marks and hallmarks for Birmingham 1938
Movement – the gilt ¾ plate movement has a lever escapement and is signed “J W Benson, 15 Jewels, Swiss Made” and is in 100% mint condition
Case – the movement comes in a solid 9K gold full hunter case by Benson, which has a hinged back and front cover. The front cover pops open crisply to 90 degrees when you press the winder in. The case has a smooth plain finish and is in 85% mint condition – 1 small bruise on the edge and some small marks on the back cover.
Dial – the white enamel dial has a pair of gilt hands, a blue steel sub seconds hand and is signed “J W Benson, London, Swiss Made.” The dial is in 100% mint condition
The watch has a mineral glass
The watch measures 49mm wide x 12mm deep
The watch is stem wound / stem set
The watch comes in a leather silk and velvet lined J W Benson box
