South Bend 21J STUDEBAKER pocket watch with orig box & chain c1928
This is a super 12 size pocket watch in its original box.
Movement – the nickel bridge movement has a lever escapement with a micrometer regulator, raised gold jewel settings and is decorated with striped damascening. The movement is signed “South Bend Watch Co, USA, Studebaker, 21 Jewels, 8 Adjustments, Double Roller” # 1234771 and is in 95% mint condition
Case – the movement comes in a 14K gold filled case, which has a screw off back and bezel. The case has an unusual engraved crazed pattern on the back, carved edges and a vacant cartouche. The case is in 95% mint condition
Dial – the silvered dial has a central section decorated with fine engine turning. The dial is signed “South Bend” and has a full set of blue steel hands. The dial is in 95% mint condition – small marks on the silvered border.
The watch has a mineral glass
The watch measures 45mm wide x 10mm deep
The watch is stem wound / stem set
The watch comes with a fancy gold filled chain which has a dog clip at one end and bolt ring at the other. The chain is made up of a single length of solid engraved links interspersed with curb links. The chain measures 330mm long x 3mm wide and is in 95% mint condition.
The watch comes in its original green silk covered eather box lined with its original insert and black velvet. The box does have a noticeable scuffed tear on the insert and the box shows wear.
