This is a classic 18s size 21 jewel Railroad grade pocket watch made by Hamilton circa 1903
The watch is a particularly handsome example as it comes in a box hinge case.
Movement – the good quality nickel full plate movement has a lever escapement with a micrometer regulator, raised gold jewel settings and is decorated with damascening. The movement is signed “Hamilton Watch Co, Lancaster, Pa, 21 Jewels, Adjusted” # 232598. The movement is in 90% mint condition – small marks and scratches
Case – the movement comes in a gold plated open face which has a hinged back and bezel and large box hinges. The case is decorated with chased sides and floral engraving. The case is in 95% mint condition – a superb example but the bow has lost its gilding.
Dial – the white enamel double sunk dial has a full set of blue steel hands and red five minute marks. The dial is signed “Hamilton Watch Co” and is in 99% mint condition
The watch has a mineral glass
The watch measures 54mm wide x 18mm deep
The watch is stem wound / lever set
