About this item
This is a Swiss made pocket watch by Zenith made for the German military during the Second World War. The case is stamped DH – Dienstuhr Heer – which is an Army designated watch.
Movement – the gilt ¾ plate movement has a lever. The movement is signed “Zenith” 3466275 and is in 90% mint condition – a cloudy patch on the main plate.
Case – the movement comes in a white metal hermetic case which has a fixed bezel, a removable movement ring and dust cap and a screw on back. The inner cover providing additional shock protection to the movement. The inside of the back cover is signed “Zenith” and the back of the case is engraved “D-8408763-H” The case is in 85% mint condition – typical signs of wear found on military issue watches
Dial – black paint on metal dial has gold coloured numbers and luminous hands – no longer luminous. The dial is signed “Zenith” and is in 95% mint condition – some general light fading in places
The watch has a mineral glass
The watch measures 50mm wide x 13mm deep
The watch is stem wound / stem set
