This is an open face, stem wound / stem set movement
The movement has a good spring and balance
Movement – the good quality nickel ¾ plate movement has a lever escapement with a micrometer regulator and is decorated with damascening. The movement is signed “Elgin Nat’l Watch Co, USA, 17 Jewels” 32838362 and is in 95% mint condition
Dial – the silvered dial has raised numbers and letters and a fancy hands but the minute hand is missing. The dial is signed “Elgin” and is in 90% mint condition – a very unusual Art deco dial in the Archibald Knox style
The movement measures 39mm x 4.8mm
