The watch is Swiss made for the French military
Movement – the nickel bridge movement has a lever escapement and is in 95% mint condition - light marks only - and is protected by a gilt ring holding a glass which covers the movement.
Case – the movement comes in a massive gunmetal open face case, which has a hinged back and snap on bezel. The case is decorated with a gilt border on the back edge and bezel, which is decorated with a raised pattern of vine leaves. The back of the case has an unusual textured finish and is in 90% mint condition – some small patches of rough spots and dirt on the gilt bezel makes it look like there is wear but there isn’t any.
Dial – the white enamel dial has a full set of gilt hands. The dial is decorated with pale blue and black enamel cartouches for each number and the dial is signed “Horlogerie Militarire, Magnien & Cie, Verdun-Sur-Le-Doubs” The dial is in 100% mint condition – a superb dial
The watch has a bevelled mineral glass.
The watch measures 66mm wide x 21mm deep
The watch is stem wound / pin set.
