This is an antique four draw telescope. An English, brass refractor for terrestrial or astronomical use by Dollond of London, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1890.
Perfect for bird watching, landscape appreciation, wildlife stalking, or maritime observation. Equally suitable for observing the night sky.
Of superb length when fully drawn, with a compact form when closed Displays a desirable aged patina throughout Good optics from the broad 50mm diameter objective, presenting a clear, sharp performance Draws with a firm, positive action to a length of almost 3' 6" Stout primary barrel dressed with a tactile, later faux crocodile cover Fourth draw tube engraved 'Dollond, London' Eye cup protected with a swivel type dust cover Supplied with a London Fine oak and brass 'Captain's Stand' for displayThis is a fine antique four draw telescope, with striking length when fully drawn and bearing the famous Dollond name.
