This is an antique nest of three occasional side tables. An Oriental, Chinese Elm trio in Japanned taste, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1900.

Chinese elm presented with a Japanned lacquer finish

Hand decorated with fine gilt paint detailing throughout

Each top depicts traditional Oriental scenes inhabited by birds of paradise

Mother of pearl inlay shimmers in the catch-light

The trio nest in a smooth stacking manner

Raised upon splayed legs with stretcher rails to the side and rear
