    About this item

An early 19th century, carved fruitwood sugar mould. This is beautifully carved with a long bouquet of flowers tied with a ribbon. The carving is deep and very well detailed and the mould would have been used for hard sugar icing or gesso. A small piece of boxwood has been inset into the top of the mould but this was probably done during the manufacture as the carving is finished in the boxwood. The piece is in very good condition.

    English. Date c.1820.

    Dimensions: Length 28cm. Width 7.7cm. Depth 2cm.
