About this item
A lovely quality early 19th Century Prie-Dieu prayer chair in original condition, with a beautifully patinated, hand carved and moulded fruitwood frame. Upholstered in velvet, the crest rail is raised above opposing barley twist stiles which flank a high back with a richly detailed tapestry panel of an arrangement of flowers and foliate in mellow pastel shades. Supported on outsplayed legs to the rear and ring turned, tapering legs to the fore, terminating on brass casters.
