This is an antique folding campaign table. An Anglo-Indian, teak colonial occasional table, dating to the mid Victorian period, circa 1880.
Ornately pierced fretwork and an unusual, rectangular folding form. Displays a desirable aged patina - minor losses commensurate with age. Teak stocks present deep chestnut hues and patination. In two pieces for ease of stowage, in the campaign manner
Enthusiastically carved to all surfaces, offering a distinguished appeal. The top a melange of vines with a flowerhead medallion to centre
Each section of the base enhanced with fretwork panels and shaped brackets. Each leg and the table edge decorated with a repeating border
This is a fascinating antique folding campaign table, a wonderful example of colonial furniture. Solid joints and construction, delivered waxed, polished and ready for the home.
