About this item
A fabulous 19th Century giltwood hall or overmantel mirror of exceptional quality and grand proportions. The shaped mirror glass plate is set within a finely hand carved, moulded and fluted gilt wood frame adorned throughout with scrolls, trailing foliate, flowerhead and ruffle motif detail. Surmounted with a stunning pierced centred crest composition comprising of centred cabochon, c-scrolls, ruffles, flowerheads flanked with trailing foliate, all intricately carved in high relief. The shaped base with a further arrangement of foliate and trailing acanthus leaves.
