About this item
A gorgeous early 19th Century giltwood overmantle mirror of neat proportions. The finely hand carved, moulded and fluted giltwood frame is surmounted with an overhanging broken pediment stepped cornice, raised above panelled frieze with beautifully detailed ring turned pilaster column carved in high relief, flanked with applied flowerhead paterae. The mirror glass plate below of rectangular form is set within an ebonised and reeded border flanked with a further pair of elegantly simple, ring turned pilaster columns, supported on shaped platform base.
