A Rare and Unusual 19th Century Giltwood Overmantle Mirror

A rare and unusual 19th Century giltwood overmantle mirror.  The mirror glass plate set within a beautiful hand carved, pierced frame with naturalistic vine detail, leaf and grape motifs.  Surmounted with a centred crest composition comprising of grapes and leaves, finely carved in high relief.  The shaped platform base with a further arrangement of foliate, grapes, vines and leaves to the corners, terminating on a pair of white ceramic spheres.
