About this item
This is a very large antique overmantle mirror. A 230cm (7'5") x 189.5cm (6'2") English, giltwood and gesso wall mirror in the classical taste dating to the mid 19th century and of country house proportions. Imposing design in the classical taste. In good condition and mellow golden tones. Later mirror plate in good order.
Scroll appliqué to ribbed ground in surbaissé pediment. Shallow frieze and reeded columns with ribbon detail. Panels with patterae and floral details. Lower brackets typical of overmantel mirrors.
A superb example of a very large antique overmantle mirror. Supplied with fixings ready to hang.
Condition : Presented in good antique condition. Waxed, Polished and Ready for the home.
