    About this item

A superb quality pair of mid 19th century (circa 1860) oak choir stall fronts in the Gothic style with wonderful original patina - ADDITIONAL IMAGES CAN BE VIEWED BELOW:

The choir stall fronts each consist of 15th century style carved foliate poppy head finials to either end with finely carved winged mythical beasts and seated angel in prayer below with sloping book rest.

This leads down to applied carved block decoration with two moulded panels below of elaborately carved Gothic style tracery leading down to a dentil moulding with carved Gothic style quatrefoil and arch decoration.

The ends also having finely carved arcaded tracery panels with quatrefoil design, each choir stall having a shelf at the back for storage.

This pair of choir stall fronts are in very good original condition for age, are of stable construction and can go straight into a home - these choir stalls would make highly decorative stands or also be ideal in the entrance of a hotel or restaurant.

    Provenance: Private residence, Kent, UK.
