    About this item

This is a top quality pocket watch by Zenith, Switzerland which comes in a solid 18K gold case. The case has French touche marks – an Eagle’s head which denotes 18K gold.

The watch is also unusual in having a four colour dial, which was usually associated with yacht racing.

Movement – the high quality gilt ¾ plate movement has a lever escapement with a micrometer regulator. The movement has exposed steel work for a start, stop, fly back and reset chronograph function with a 30 minute register. The movement is jewelled throughout and to the centre. The movement is signed “Zenith” # 2262445 and is in 100% mint condition

Case – the movement comes in a substantial 18K gold hunter case, which has a hinged inner, back and front cover. The front cover pops open to just under 90 degrees when you press the winder in. The case has a smooth plain finish and is in 90% mint condition – some tiny marks on the back and some scratches on the inner cover.

Dial – the white enamel dial has 4 outer chapter rings with gold, green, red and black markings and is for “calcule par 1000 metres de distance”. The dial also has a chapter ring graduated into fifths of seconds and an inner red 24 hour chapter ring. The dial has an offset subsidiary seconds dial and also an offset 30 seconds register with the same 4 colour markings. As mentioned these dials were used for yacht racing. The dial has a full set of blue steel hands and is signed “Zenith, Importe de Suisse”. The dial is in 100% mint condition

The watch comes in a leather, silk and velvet lined box

The watch has a mineral glass

The watch measures 50mm wide x 12mm deep

The watch is stem wound / stem set
