About this item
This is an American pocket watch made by Waltham USA, for use on the British 'South Eastern & Chatham Railway' and is marked S.E & C.R 98.
Movement – the gilt full plate movement has a lever escapement is signed “American Waltham Watch Co, 15 Jewels,” # 21058720 and is in 90% mint condition
Case – the movement comes in a base metal open face case, which has a screw on bezel and then the ring holding the movement can be levered out of the case. The case has a smooth plain finish and is engraved on the back “S.E. & C.R 98”. The case is in 95% mint condition – the bow has been replaced but apart from that a very clean case
Dial – the white enamel dial has a full set of blue steel hands and is signed “Waltham, USA”. The dial is in 70% mint condition – a hairline cluster on the 4-5 and a smaller group on the 7-8
The watch has a bevelled mineral glass
The watch measures 58mm wide x 21mm deep
The watch is stem wound / stem set
