    About this item

This is a nice Renaissance silver-gilt devotional pendant, dating to the mid 16th - early 17th century A.D. The pendant is set with two original woodcuts of the Virgin Mary. The frame of the reliquary is openwork, to display a wound piece of red fabric. Similar shaped pendants in gold and enamel have Verre Églomisé panels and are dated to the 1550' - 1600's. A nice honest piece in untouched condition.
