About this item
A finely made sterling silver Masonic pendant in the form of traditional working tools, comprising an articulated divider, spirit level, set square and plumb measure, beautifully engraved with foliate decoration. The pendant is fully hallmarked for Birmingham, 1997, with maker’s mark JL, and bears the sterling silver lion passant.
An unusual and highly collectible piece of Masonic jewellery, the articulated design gives the pendant wonderful movement and detail, making it far more distinctive than the more commonly encountered square and compasses pendants. The craftsmanship is particularly pleasing, with crisp engraved decoration and a charming novelty construction that reflects the symbolic tools of the craft.
Suspended from a fine approximately 60 cm silver-coloured chain, which is too delicate to carry a hallmark, a common feature on lighter chains of this type.
A handsome and wearable piece, equally suitable as a gift for a Freemason, lodge member, or collector of symbolic and unusual silver jewellery.
Condition: Very good vintage condition.
A scarce and attractive late 20th century Masonic silver pendant with excellent decorative appeal.
