About this item
In over 30 years of handling thousands of watches and watch chains I have never seen a chain like this.
It is made up of 12 silver links which are connected by a silver curb link. Each link has the makers mark and patent number on reverse WD & S and 312406. The link then has clear silver hallmarks and date letter which corresponds to the date on the front. Each link is different and dated from 1930 through to 1941. I presume that a link could be added for each year of marriage or a chain made to commemorate an anniversary or birthday. The links also have suspension loops on there longer edges also and I presume that you could connect them in a different arrangement, thus creating a necklace.
The chain measures 310mm and is in 95% mint condition
