    About this item

An early 19th century, dark grey marble mortar with a double ended, wooden pestle. This is probably from Southern France and it dates from c.1820. The marble mortar, which has good patina, has a narrow pouring lip to one of the lobes. Both ends of the pestle can be used, one end being a standard size and the other being small but rounded. It appears to be turned from walnut. There are a few very small chips to the rim of the mortar but otherwise it is in very good condition. The pestle is in very good, usable condition.

Dimensions: Mortar: Width 29.2cm. Height 16cm. Pestle: Length 25.5cm. Diameter 7.8cm.

Price includes postage within the U.K. Shipping to the U.S.A. add £40. Most of Western Europe add £20.
