About this item
A very good example of mid 17thc bronze mortar, from an unidentified foundry in London (see M. Finlay's book on English Decorated Mortars - page 79 - illustration 129 for a similar example)....it has three dragon heads which are depicted heraldically as 'erased' and on a torse ....in very nice condition with a good natural patina.
