    About this item

A fabulous coloured, early 19th century marble mortar with a glass pestle. This mortar is a rich reddish brown colour with grey veining. It is quite unusual to find a glass pestle. This is handblown and both pestle and mortar date from c1820. They were probably, originally for use in an apothecary. There is minor chipping to the rim of the mortar and one of the lobes has been off and it is now stuck back. The pestle is in excellent condition.

Dimensions: Mortar:  Height 11cm. Width 18.5cm. Pestle: Length 17.5cm. Diameter 4.5cm.

Price includes postage within the U.K. Shipping to the U.S.A. add £40. Most of Western Europe add £20.
