About this item
A heavy and solid white marble mortar in a traditional form. The mortar has nice patina from age and is likely to date to the Victorian period, C. 19th Century. The mortar has a hole in the base which looks to have been made deliberately and part of the design. The mortar has some knocks, chips and cracks but it is solid and stable. The mortar has a chip to the base. The marble has some marks and discolouration. Please see pictures for condition details. The mortar would make a very nice display item for the kitchen, perhaps to fill with lemons and limes etc. The mortar has a great antique look and is a solid and well made piece.
