About this item

Description of the easel stand

This is a large tabletop easel stand with a folding rear leg and a screw adjustable central support, made to hold a framed picture, plaque or similar display piece. At 40 cm tall it has proper presence, and the open frame keeps the look light.

The decoration is full Rococo revival, with a pierced foliate crest at the top, a shaped lower apron with scrolling ornament, and cast cabriole style feet that give it a confident stance on a table or mantel. The uprights are neatly detailed with repeated linear casting, and the central ledge can be raised or lowered with the wing screw to suit the height of whatever is being displayed.

Pieces like this were made for interiors where the stand mattered almost as much as the object on it. It works as a display easel, but it also has the look of a small decorative furnishing in its own right, which is exactly why better brass examples still hold attention now.

Condition

Overall it is in good condition.

Why You Should Buy

The right stand does not just hold a picture, it quietly makes the whole display feel finished.
