A Rare 19th Century Giltwood Pier or Hall or Dressing Mirror

A rare 19th Century giltwood pier, hall or dressing mirror, finely hand carved and of exceptional quality.  The original, shaped mirror glass plate is set within a stunning pierced, moulded and fluted giltwood frame which is profusely and intricately carved in high relief with stunning motif details throughout, comprising of an arrangement of elaborately detailed trailing foliate, flowerheads, c and s scrolls.  Surmounted with a fabulous centred crest composition of flowers encircled with acanthus leaves, flanked with trailing foliate, ruffles and c scrolls.  The shaped platform base with a further beautiful arrangement of centred flowerheads and scrolls with acanthus leaves and foliate motif detail to the sides.
