    About this item

TWO LARGE AESTHETIC BROWN TRANSFERWARE PLATES

    RUSTIC PATTERN

Burgess and Leigh ~ Hill Pottery
    Staffordshire England
    c. 1886

These large Victorian aesthetic 9 7/8 inch dinner plates are transfer printed in very dark brown.  The pattern features a bird in flight over an urn filled with flowers.  Exotic fruit and berries along with a multitude of flowers frame the aesthetic cartouche of a distant country landscape.  Wonderful geometric designs complete the plate.  The pattern displays the victorian eras love of nature and the exotic.

Condition is great, bright shiny and clean.  Our favorite pattern, rightly so, too.
