    Victorian Aesthetic Movement Minton Majolica nine well oyster plate. Central circular mottled brown/green well with cockle shell border on brown stipple ground. Surrounded by nine aqua/turquoise shell shaped segments with periwinkles, shells and seaweed on gray stipple ground in-between. Turquoise reverse. Three stilt marks inside the foot along with impressed maker''s marks ''MINTONS'', date cipher  and pattern registration diamond.  No cracks. No hairlines. No chips. Kiln effect: the putlogs left a mark from the kiln firing as usual. This is NOT a chip but a manufacturing mark found on most Majolica.  Impressed marks to base, 25.5cm diameter Ten wells for ten oysters (many are only six) 19th-Century
