Vintage half hunter pocket watch by Elgin c1915

This is a gold plated half hunter pocket watch. The movement was made by the American company Elgin.

Movement – the gilt ¾ plate movement has a lever escapement and 7 jewels. The movement is signed “Elgin Nat’l Watch Co, USA” # 18516012 and is in 99% mint condition – a very clean example

Case – the movement comes in a warranted gold plated half hunter case by the Keystone watch case company, USA. It is unusual to see an American Half hunter case as mostly they are hunters. The case has a hinged inner, back and front cover. The front cover pops open to 90 degrees when you press the winder in. The case has blue enamel roman numbers on the front cover. The rest of the case has a smooth plain finish and is in 95% mint condition – small amounts of wear only

Dial – the white enamel dial has a full set of blue steel hands and is signed “Elgin”. The dial is in 100% mint condition

The watch has a small plastic glass in the front cover and a mineral glass over the dial

The watch measures 51mm wide x 12mm deep

The watch is stem wound / stem set

The watch comes in a vintage leather box lined with silk and velvet.
