Stylish English silver half hunter pocket watch w/ rare box c1938

This is an unusual stylish English silver half hunter as it has a slimmed profile than most watches of this period. The back cover snaps on, rather than hinged and it doesn’t have an inner cover, thus making it a slimmer watch.

The Swiss movement is of high quality and looks like a Longines movement but there is no signature

The watch also comes in an unusual box with a hunter configuration. In over 30 years of dealing with watches I have only had a few examples

Movement – the high quality nickel movement has a lever escapement and has a micrometer regulator. The movement is jewelled to the centre and is numbered 105190 and is in 95% mint condition – light marks only

Case – the movement comes in an English silver half hunter case, which has a snap on back and a hinged front cover which pops open to 90 degrees when you press the winder in.

The case has dark blue enamel numbers on the front and is decorated with engine turning. The case is in 99% mint condition – a crisp case

Dial – the white enamel dial has a pair of gilt hands and a blue steel sub seconds hand. The dial is in 100% mint condition.

The watch has a mineral glass over the dial and in the front case

The watch is stem wound / stem set

The watch measures 50mm wide x 12mm deep

The watch comes in its original leather case lined with silk and velvet with a hunter configuration
