Masonic 16s 21J Illinois Burlington Watch Co pocket watch c1928

This is an American Rail road grade pocket watch made by the Illinois Watch Co.

Movement – the high grade nickel bridge movement has a micrometer regulator, raised gold jewel settings, gold train wheels and is decorated with damascening. The movement is signed “Burlington Watch Co, Chicago, 21 Jewels, Adjusted to Temp & Positions” 5141694. The movement is in 90% mint condition – light marks and scratches

Case – the movement comes in a 14K gold filled open face case, which has a snap on inner cover and a screw on back and bezel. The back cover and inner are signed “The Burlington Watch Co, Bulldog”. The inner cover has an engraved scroll monogram. The back cover is engraved with masonic symbols. The case has a broad stem which is synonymous with the Burlington Bulldog brand. It also has a smooth plain finish with Grecian engraving on the back and front edges. The case is in 95% mint condition – very light wear only; overall an excellent example

Dial – the white enamel Montgomery style dial is double sunk and has a full set of blue steel hands and continuous minute marks. The dial is signed “Burlington” and is in 100% mint condition – even the hands have their original purple bloom.
