This is seal was designed to be used with hot wax for sealing letters.
I have made an impression of this seal using hot wax to show that the seal works as intended and also to give a clearer image of the intaglio.
The wax impression comes in a small plastic case and is included with the seal.
This is a small sized seal.
It has no assay marks for gold but the handle is definitely solid 15K – 18K gold and the base is metal covered with a layer of gold.
The fob comes with a 100% guarantee to this effect.
The seal has a shield shaped base set with a dark brown stone. This is engraved with the Intaglio of a stag and also the initials CW in reverse.
The shank is decorated with scrolls and carving.
The seal measures 23mm x 11mm x 11mm and is in 85% mint condition – some rubbing and wear to the carving.
