    About this item

This is a superb example of an American Railroad grade pocket watch. The watch is a particularly handsome example and it is a rare find to have the original box and certificate.

Movement – the high quality nickel bridge movement has a lever escapement with a micrometer regulator. The movement is signed “E.Howard Watch Co, Railroad Chronometer, Boston, USA, Series 11, 21 Jewels, Railroad adjustment, temperature, 5 positions” # 1318469. The movement is in 99% mint condition

Case – the movement comes in a Keystone extra open face case, which is signed “E.Howard Watch Co, Boston”. The case has a screw off bezel and you then pull the winder out to release the movement and hinge the movement out of the case. The case has engine turning on the bezel with a smooth plain finish on the back. The case is in 90% mint condition – very clean indeed but there is one dent on the side near the winder.

Dial – the white enamel has a superb example of a Montgomery style dial and has a full set of blue steel hands. The dial is signed “Howard” and is in 100% mint condition

The watch has a synthetic glass

The watch is stem wound / lever set

The watch measures 53mm wide x 14mm deep

The watch comes in its original wooden box which is lined with silk and velvet. The lid is signed “Howard” and fixed to the inside of the base is the original certificate
