This is a very rare, high quality American Rail Road grade pocket watch made by the Hamilton Watch company
The spring on the regulator has been changed and is not correct for the watch. Hence the low price
Movement – the high grade bridge movement has a lever escapement and has gold train, gold centre wheel, micrometer regulator, an Elinvar hairspring, gold raised jewels and is jewelled to the mainspring. The movement is decorated with damascening and is signed “Hamilton Watch Co, Lancaster, Pa, 23 Jewels, 950, Motor Barrel, Adjusted 5 positions, Elinvar” # 2639995 and is in 95% mint condition –superb condition
Case – the movement comes in a 10K gold filled open face case, which has a screw on back and bezel. The case has turned detailing on the edges and the patent stirrup over the winder, which is signed Hamilton Railroad. The case is in 95% mint condition
Dial – the white enamel dial is double sunk and has a full set of blue steel hands. The dial is signed “Hamilton” and is in 95% mint condition – a tiny hairline under the hands to the sub seconds and another just in the right lower corner of the sunken centre next to the sub seconds
The watch has a mineral glass
The watch is stem wound / lever set
The watch measures 50mm wide x 12mm deep
