18 Kt Yellow Gold Open Face Pocket Watch

    Hallmarked London 1857

An 18 Kt yellow gold open face pocket watch, made in England and hallmarked for London 1857.

Dial: The white enamel dial has black Roman numerals with outer minute divisions. The dial has blued hands. There are slight hair cracks on the dial. The protective glass is in good condition.

Movement: The fusee lever movement with a chain is in great working condition; however, we cannot guarantee absolute accuracy for an antique pocket watch. The movement is signed: “Straub & Hebting, Blackman Street, Boro”.

Case: The pocket watch lies in an 18 Kt yellow gold open face case with an engine turned finish with a monogram free cartouche – all in excellent condition. The inner side of the case is stamped for 18 Kt gold and numbered: 9306.

See book Watchmakers and Clockmakers of the World by Brian Loomes page 748: Straub & Hebting, London 1844-1900.

    Hallmarked for London 1857.
