This is an English silver pocket watch which has London hallmarks for 1839

This watch has a good balance but the chain is broken and so the watch is sold as not working with no warranty.

Movement – the gilt full plate lever movement is fusee driven with a Massey lever escapement. It has a steel balance wheel and is signed “J Massey, 4 Birchin Lane, London” 2594. The movement is in 85% mint condition – scratches and marks and will require attention.

The watch has its original gilt dust cap

Case – the movement comes in an English silver open face case, which has a hinged back and bezel. The watch is wound from the back, set from the front and the movement is accessed from the front also. The case is decorated with engine turning and is in 90% mint condition – light wear only

Dial – the off white enamel dial has gilt hands and is in 85% mint condition – several light hairlines

The watch has a mineral glass

The watch measures 50mm wide x 18mm deep

The watch is key wound / key set and comes with a key
