    About this item

This is a silver gilt pocket watch made for the Chinese market.

The watch is a hunter style watch and is bigger than most Chinese market watches of this style – it is not a ladies size watch, it is a gents sized watch measuring 49mm wide.

The watch has clear Chinese market hallmarks and is decorated with perfect unrestored enamel

Movement – the gilt ¾ plate movement has a lever escapement and is signed “George Favre-Jacot, Registered”. The movement is in 99% mint condition

Case – the movement comes in a silver .800 case which has been covered with gilding, giving it a rich yellow colour. The case has a hinged inner, engraved with miniature individual medals. The case has a hinged front and back cover. The front cover pops open crisply to 90 degrees when you press the button in on the stem. Both covers have detailed Chinese market hallmarks and signatures.

Both covers are decorated with guilloche enamel of two women, both similar but each slightly different. The quality of the enamel is superb and is almost photographic in its capture of the women’s faces. The enamel on both covers has fine surface scratches which you expect to find with hard enamel but both panels have no damage and no restoration

The case is in 99% mint condition

Dial – the white enamel has a pair of blue steel filigree hands and is signed in Chinese script. The dial is in 98% mint condition – a small flake on the edge of the deal near the 4 hidden by the bezel.

The watch has a mineral glass

The watch is key wound / key set and comes with a key

The watch measures 49mm wide x 14mm deep
