Elegant dress pocket watch by GRUEN c1926

This is an elegant Prestige pocket watch made for the lighter silk suits and waistcoats (vests) of the 1920’s – 1930s. They make ideal watches for suits of today as they are not to heavy and have a slimmer profile. The Prestige watches were produced by American and some Swiss manufactures of the 1920’s and 30’s. They are equivalent or higher in quality than some Rail road watches and many Swiss watches of the same period. They are always finished to a very high standard.

The nickel bridge movement has a lever escapement and a micrometer regulator. The movement has gold train wheels, a capped escape wheel and is decorated with damascening. The movement is signed “Gruen Guild Switzerland, 717, 17 Jewels, Adjusted temperatures” 795321 and is in 90% mint condition

Case – the movement comes in a 14K White Gold filled open face case, which has a snap on back and front. It is signed “Gruen Ultra Quality”. It has carved sides and a smooth plain finish on the back. It is in 95% mint condition

Dial – the silvered dial has a matt finish with an inner central ring with a polished finish and bright cut engraving. The dial has raised gold coloured numbers in the Art Deco style,  stylish blue steel hands and is signed “Gruen”. The dial is in 100% mint condition

The watch has a mineral glass

The watch measures 44mm wide x 9mm deep

The watch is stem wound / stem set.
