This is an English silver hunter verge with hallmarks for London 1808

The movement has a good balance and chain but the watch is fully wound and will only tick for a few moments

Movement – this top quality gilt full plate verge movement has cylindrical pillars and a finely pierced watch cock with a large diamond endstone. The movement also has a silvered steel regulator disc. The movement is signed “Hough, Portsmouth, 27132”. The movement is in 95% mint condition – a beautiful example

The movement has its original dust cap

Inner case – the movement comes in an English silver hunter case, which has a hinged back and front cover and bezel. The movement is wound from the back, set from the front and accessed from the front also. The front cover will pop open about 45 degrees when you press the button on the stem in; you then lift it manually to the full 90 degrees.

The case has a smooth plain finish. The case is in 85% mint condition – several soft bruises and marks but still a nice example

Dial – the white enamel dial has a full pair of blue steel hands and also a sub seconds dial. The lever for the stop start action on the sub seconds is missing. The dial is in 98% mint condition – some light marks

The watch has a mineral glass

The watch is key wound / key set and comes with old period keys

    The watch measures 58mm x 24mm
