Massive 5 oz Silver Hunter pocket watch by Lancaster Pa c1880

This is an 18 size, 7 Jewel Record, Lancaster Pa Stem wound lever set hunter in its original massive 5 oz coin silver case. The watch weighs in total 200g

Movement – this is a nickel ¾ plate 7 Jewel movement which has a lever escapement and is signed “Records, Lancaster Pa, Patent Pinion” 45984. The movement is in 85% mint condition – cloudy stains but still a good looking movement

Case – the movement comes in a top quality and massive 5oz Coin silver case. You can see the size and heft of the case when you look at the wide rim of silver around the dial and movement.  The case has a hinged inner, back and front cover. The front cover pops open to 45 degrees when you press the winder in. The case has large gold hinges and is decorated with coin edged sides and floral engraving and has faint initials on the front. The case is in 90% mint condition – light wear only but still a magnificent case

Dial – the white enamel dial has a superb pair of blue steel hands and is signed “Lancaster Pa”. The dial is in 95% mint condition
