This is a Swiss pocket watch made by Record for the British government, who evaluated the watch and gave it the designation “General Service Mark II”
Movement – the good quality nickel bridge movement has a lever escapement with a micrometer regulator. The movement is signed “Swiss Made, 15 Jewels” # 164247 and is in 95% mint condition
Case – the movement comes in a large metal case by Dennison which has a screw off back and bezel. The case is engraved on the edge A 1611. The back is engraved “A 1611, GS Mk II” and is also engraved with a broad arrow British government mark. The case has a smooth plain finish and is in 90% mint condition – light wear
Dial – the black paint on metal dial has old luminous hands and numbers – long lost their luminosity. The dial is signed “Record Dreadnought, A 1611, Swiss Made” and is in 99% mint condition
The watch has a thick bevelled glass
The watch measures 58mm x 17.8mm
The watch is stem wound / stem set
