About this item
This is not a pocket watch but a artillery split second timer used in the First World War. The watch has two hands operated by pressing down on the stem and the button on the side. These can be worked independently or separately.
Movement – the gilt ¾ plate movement has a lever escapement and exposed steel work for the chronograph work. The movement is numbered 16228 and is in 100% mint condition – superb condition
Case – the movement comes in a white metal open face case, which has a hinged inner, back and a snap on bezel. The case is engraved with a large military arrow, and Patt. 4, 36720. The case has a smooth plain finish and is in 90% mint condition – signs of wear with a dull finish
Dial – the white enamel dial has a pair of chronograph hands – one blue steel and one red steel and a blue steel register hand for the 30 minute register. The dial is in 100% mint condition
The timer measures 51mm x 17mm
The watch has a mineral glass.
The watch is stem wound
