About this item
This is a Swiss pocket watch which has a huge 8 day mainspring taking up the back of the watch. Due to this the balance and regulator and visible through the front dial area.
There are many variations of this 8 day mainspring but Hebdomas was the patent name given to this brand.
Movement – the pocket watch movement is completely hidden by the large mainspring barrel signed “Spiral Breget Levees Visbles, 8 Jours, Qualite Superieure Garantie”. The mainspring barrel is then decorated with engraved medals and awards
The cover is in 90% mint condition – light tarnish
Case – the movement comes in a silver open face case, which has a hinged back and a snap on bezel. The case is decorated with flowers in high relief and is in 85% mint condition – some bruise on the sides but still in excellent condition
Dial – the white enamel dial has a pair of gilt hands and a visible balance and regulator. The dial is decorated with silver enamel grapes, vine leaves and red enamel details and is signed “Hebdomas Patent, 8 Days, Swiss Made”. The dial is in 100% mint condition
The watch measures 46.5mm wide x 15mm deep
The watch has a synthetic glass
The watch is stem wound / stem set
The watch comes in a vintage Hebdomas box
