    About this item

    This is a Swiss Made pocket watch made for and retailed by J W Benson of London. The additional interesting feature of this pocket watch is the engraved crest on the back which is for Maxton clan, Cultoquhey of Scotland.

    Movement – the gilt 3 finger bridge movement has 15 Jewels, a lever escapement and is in 95% mint condition

    Case – the movement comes in a silver half hunter case, which has a hinged inner, back and front cover. The front cover pops open crisply to 90 degrees when you press the winder in. The case has gold hinges, coin edged sides, engine turning and a blue enamel numbers on the front cover. The inner cover is signed “Watchmaker by Warrant to the Queen, Examined by J W Benson, 62 & 64 Ludgate Hill, London, Swiss Made”.  The back of the case is engraved with a bee within a circle and the words “Providos Esto” – be forseeing. The case is in 95% mint condition

    Dial – the white enamel dial has a pair of gilt hands and a blue steel sub seconds hand. The dial is in 100% mint condition

    The watch has a mineral glass over the dial and in the front cover

    The watch is stem wound / lever set

    The watch measures 49mm wide x 15mm deep

    The watch comes in its original leather box by J W Benson. This box does show wear as the silk inside has age related wear.
