Large 8 day desk clock or car dashboard watch made for TIFFANY c1910

This is a Swiss timepiece which would have sat in a leather strut case or would have been placed on the dashboard of an early motor vehicle

The watch was made by the Majestic Watch Co, Switzerland for Tiffany, NY

The watch runs well and keeps good time over an 8 day period to just under 3 minutes in 8 days. It has NOT been cleaned or serviced by us and is sold with NO warranty

Movement – the large nickel ¾ plate movement has a lever escapement with an 8 day spring. It is signed “Made for Tiffany & Co by the Majestic Watch Co, Switzerland, 15 Jewels, 3 Adj”

The movement is in 90% mint condition – tarnish only

Case – the movement comes in brassy metal case, which has a hinged back and a wider centre with a screw on bezel allowing it to be slotted within the front and back of a case

The case has a smooth plain finish and is in 80% mint condition – a very brassy colour

Dial – the white enamel dial has a pair blue steel hands with a plum colour finish. The dial is signed “8 Days, Switzerland” and is in 99% mint condition

The watch measures 80.8mm wide on the widest point of the case. The bezel on the dial measures 69mm wide. The casing on the back measures 69.6mm wide

The watch has a thick bevelled glass

The watch is stem wound / stem set
